Middle School
The curriculum for Middle School has been designed to give students the opportunity to learn and master critical thinking skills. This allows them to feel comfortable communicating with and learning about other cultures. We also encourage students to feel pride in their own cultures and religions while emphasizing that diversity enriches learning and life.
Excellence is a priority at the Peterson Schools. We make sure our evaluation system is up to international standards via the Measure of Academic Program (MAP) exams provided by the Northwest Evaluation Association (NWEA).
On the educational scene, the Peterson Schools are recognized in Mexico and abroad. We are incorporated with the Mexican Education Secretariat (SEP).
The core of our Physical Education (PE) program is the development of the student’s physical health and all-round wellbeing. It also serves as a support for students’ intellectual, emotional and social progress. The Arts serve as a tool for students to express their feelings and emotions. It allows them to master control over their bodies and helps develop their self-esteem.
At the Peterson Schools values are an important part of the formation of the individual. In this educational environment, students are encouraged to be self-directed learners. CAS (Creativity, Action, Service) is our institutional social service program. Students participate with a variety of charitable foundations to help people who are living in different realities than their own.
The Psychology and Pedagogical Department works closely with students and their parents to assist them in enhancing their overall progress. Psychologists and teachers work closely to prevent bullying to ensure students psychological health. The CRECE program is directly related with the development of healthy parenting skills and other matters regarding the student’s progress and development. The Psychology Department plays an active role in the admission and selection process by providing psychological assessment and coaching support.
Extracurricular activities expose students to various experiences to complement their education. Students are encouraged to be proactive and reach their goals. At the Peterson Schools we know that the learning process is not limited to the classroom. It is through athletic competition that students can learn about teamwork, leadership and developing their self-esteem.
Camps and field trips encourage leadership, social responsibility and self assessment skills. Science, culture and conservation of Mexican biodiversity are some of the themes reinforced outside the classroom.
