The Peterson Schools are members of Escuela Promesa, an educational program promoting environmental culture in schools across Mexico.
Once a month, representatives of Escuela Promesa visit each of the Peterson Schools' campuses to collect recyclables deposited by students, staff and parents.
Each month the organization presents a report to the schools about the volume and environmental impact of recyclables collected at each campus.
Escuela Promesa also plays an educational role at the Peterson Schools. It helps train the schools' environmental committees made up of 6th grade students and parents from the Values Committees.
During the 2019-2020 school year Escuela Promesa presented a course on how to create and maintain vegetable gardens.
During the Covid-19 crisis in 2020 with schools closed, the organization implemented at the Promesa en Casa (Promise at Home) program that has created pick-up routes to collect recyclables from Peterson families.
