COVID-19 Information

Dear Peterson Community,

You will find relevant information to keep you informed and learn about the efforts of our community to deal with the disease caused by the new SARS-CoV-2 coronavirus.

COVID-19 Travel Guidelines

We know you have concerns about how to act and what to do when students come back from their trips. Dr. Carlos Pantoja, our advising epidemiologist, suggests that students stay home for four days and get tested on the fifth day (it could be with an antigen test). If the test result is negative, they can return to school. If the test result is positive, they must stay home for ten days before returning to school.

“Winter is Coming” is a campaign targeting our internal community (mainly students) to create awareness on the importance of the use of appropriate clothing for the winter season.

Based on the Game of Thrones line, we used elements of the famous series to bring to life the characters within our community. Through John Snow, Daenerys Targaryen, and Drogon, we try to communicate the importance of keeping warm now that COVID 19 variants such as Omicron and the drop in temperature, make us more susceptible to respiratory illnesses.  Accordingly, it is very important that students dress in layers and warm clothing. As a way to transmit this information in an attractive and fun way, we took as a reference the series Game of Thrones to exemplify the type of clothing appropriate for the season.

We would like to thank Mercedes Peterson, Middle School Principal, and Martín Marmolejo, MS STEM Coordinator, for their participation in this project.
