What is a Cognia Certification?

Cognia (formerly known as AdvancEd) is a non-profit, non-governmental organization that offers educational institutions accreditation of high academic quality. It works towards achieving educational excellence worldwide through certification, research and professional services.

Cognia’s accreditation process guarantees that the school meets the necessary requirements to provide high-level international education and a world of opportunities for learners to thrive.

With more than 100 years assessing the quality of 40, 000 education providers , this particular certification works as an excellent benchmark for schools worldwide. In addition, Cognia’s certification allows each student transcript to be revalidated by education institutions around the world.

It is important to note that Cognia’s accreditation represents the unified policies and procedures for the accreditation and certification of studies of 3 Accreditation Divisions: North Central Association Commission on Accreditation and School Improvement (NCA CASI), Northwest Accreditation Commission (NWAC), Southern Association of Colleges and Schools Council on Accreditation and School Improvement (SACS CASI). Those Divisions comprise three of the six K-12 accreditation agencies recognized by the United States Department of Education.
